PNO Innovation is looking for a Senior Innovation Consultant – Circular Bioeconomy to strengthen its team in Spain.

You will support leading organisations in the circular bioeconomy in transforming innovative ideas into high-impact, EU-funded projects, with a strong focus on bio-based materials, biorefineries, biofuels and circular industrial processes.

This role combines EU proposal writing, client advisory, and business development, with a strong focus on programmes such as Horizon Europe, CBE-JU, LIFE, PRIMA, EU Missions and Innovation Fund.

To design, win, and deliver EU-funded projects in the Circular Bioeconomy, enabling clients to scale innovations in bio-based materials, biofuels and circular processes, while contributing to PNO’s growth in this strategic domain.

Your tasks 1st part (in max 4 bullets)

Lead the preparation and submission of EU proposals (Horizon Europe, CBE-JU, LIFE, PRIMA, EU Missions, Innovation Fund)
Develop high-quality proposal sections, especially Impact (business case, exploitation, dissemination, market uptake)
Identify funding opportunities and strategically position clients in the Circular Bioeconomy
Build and manage international consortia

Your tasks 2nd part (In max 4 bullets)

Drive business development in bio-based materials, biorefineries, biofuels, sustainable aviation fuels, and carbon capture and utilization (CCU) of biogenous gases
Develop and manage client relationships, identifying cross-selling opportunities
Contribute to or coordinate EU-funded projects (delivery, reporting, compliance)
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to team knowledge and best practices

Your profile 1st part (in max 4 bullets)

5+ years of experience in EU R&D funding, proposal writing, or innovation consulting
Proven track record in Horizon Europe proposal development (strong focus on Impact section)
Strong expertise in Circular Bioeconomy (bio-based materials, biomass conversion, biofuels, CCU, etc.)
Good knowledge of EU funding programmes (Horizon Europe Clusters 4–6, CBE-JU, LIFE; Innovation Fund is a plus)

Your Profile 2nd part (In max 4 bullets)

Experience in client-facing roles and/or business development
Ability to translate technical concepts into strategic, fundable proposals
Degree in chemical or biochemical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial biotechnology, materials/polymer sciences
Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
