We are looking for a Junior Consultant – Grants & Financial Control to join our National Funding team in Spain.

This role focuses primarily on the financial monitoring and control of publicly funded projects (65% post-award), including budget tracking, cost validation, and preparation of financial justifications for national funding programs (e.g. CDTI, regional grants).

You will also contribute to proposal preparation (35% pre-award), supporting budgeting and cost structuring.

Please note: this role requires prior hands-on experience in the financial monitoring or justification of publicly funded projects (grants/subsidies).

Ensure accurate financial tracking and compliance of funded projects, supporting clients in the correct execution and justification of public funding.

  • Monitor project budgets and perform financial tracking and cost control
  • Analyze budget deviations and ensure eligibility of costs under funding rules
  • Prepare and review financial justifications and cost reports for funding bodies
  • Support the technical and administrative follow-up of ongoing projects

  • Coordinate with clients to collect financial and project-related documentation
  • Ensure compliance with financial requirements of grants and subsidies
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals (budgeting, cost structure, support in documentation)
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a consulting environment

Your profile 1st part (in max 4 bullets)

  • Mandatory: Hands-on experience in financial monitoring, budgeting, or cost justification of publicly funded projects (grants, subsidies, CDTI, regional funding)
  • 1–3 years of experience in financial control, project management, or similar roles
  • Degree in Engineering (Industrial/Management), Business Administration, or similar
  • Strong understanding of cost structures, budgeting, and financial reporting

  • Advanced Excel skills (budget tracking, cost analysis)
  • Fluent in English (C1 minimum)
  • Catalan is a strong plus
